I have been practicing chiropractic in Maine since 2002. I love chiropractic, I love what it offers people, and I love my work with my patients. I take a holistic approach, a whole-life approach to health, with the ultimate goal of removing interferences so that the body can express its full potential.
I have been in practice in the South Portland area for over ten years. I received my Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Five Branches Institute in Santa Cruz California. Prior to becoming an acupuncturist I was a massage therapist and I incorporate knowledge of other bodywork into my practice.
My work offers an integrated approach to massage therapy. In doing so, I find that I am able to help facilitate opportunities for self-growth and improvement for my clients. This may include developing progressive treatments for improved range of motion, rehabilitation from an injury, relieving chronic or acute discomfort, releasing muscle tension, or simply promoting relaxation and rejuvenation from within. Every session is catered to the needs and intentions of the individual. I completed my Certification for Massage Therapy at the Potomac Massage Training Institute in Washington, D.C. I hold further certifications in Pre- and Perinatal massage, mastership Kundalini Reiki, and Level 2 Usui Reiki. I also draw upon my introductory training in modalities such as Myofascial Release,Trigger Point Therapy, Active Isolated Stretching, Shiatsu massage and beyond.
Drawing on multiple massage styles and healing modalities, I have developed a unique type of treatment known as Range of Motion Myofascial Release. Using acute listening skills honed through craniosacral therapy and Barnes-style myofascial technique along with passive range of motion and an ever-growing understanding of the physical and energetic landscape of the body, I am able to facilitate a broad depth of healing during each session. Range of Motion Myofascial Release is highly beneficial in treating many conditions, including (but not limited to) musculoskeletal disorders, chronic holding patterns, acute conditions, motor vehicle and sports injuries, pre and post-natal symptoms, stress, and emotional and physical trauma. Tailoring every treatment specifically towards how an individual is presenting at any given time allows us reach the fullest potential within each session.
